Restlessness and a taste for diversity did not become a hallmark of Deborah Colker's work by accident. Created between the solitude of the study of classical piano and the practice of a collective sport, volleyball, the choreographer from Rio de Janeiro started in contemporary dance as a dancer for the Joker, from Uruguayan Graciela Figueiroa, a group that marked the time in Rio de Janeiro in the 1980s In 1984, at the invitation of Dina Sfat, an actress of mythological contours in the Brazilian theatrical scene, she started what would be the main aspect of her career in the following ten years: movement director - expression specially coined for her by the director Ulysses Cruz to underline the relevance of his work in the final result of a few dozen theater shows with which he collaborated during this period. The rubric, which would eventually be incorporated into Brazilian scenic jargon, also applies, and with precision, to the role it played, for example, in the creation of the puppet movements of TV Colosso - a milestone in Brazilian children's television programming of the years nineteen ninety.
