4 FOR 4

The study of the movement-space relationship is a passion and a constant in the work of Deborah Colker. After promoting the approach of Dance with Architecture, in Casa, a 1999 show, the choreographer from Rio de Janeiro felt the need to add the collaboration of other artists

to your study of movement. The impact caused by different exhibitions visited by her between 1998 and 2000 made the Plastic Arts an object of desire and a more than perfect theme to give segment to her investigative process. After all, as she herself says, what is dance if not a moving image?

This was how 4 POR 4 was born, ballet in two acts and five movements, where concepts such as restraint, delicacy, limitation, boldness and transparency are explored by Cia Deborah Colker dancers through the interaction with pre-existing and specially created works by Brazilian artists from different generations: Cildo Meireles (Cantos), Chelpa Ferro (Mesa), Victor Arruda (Povinho) and Gringo Cardia (Vasos).
